US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported that the sports betting volume in the state was $574.2m in April. That’s a rise of 11.8 per cent from the previous year. Some $566.1m was wagered online and $8.1m at physical locations. Payouts were $511.1m, with operators retaining 11.0 per cent of the total bets. Taxable winnings amounted to $45.9m.
The sports wagering market generated $9.1m in payments to the state. Some $6.9m went to the Blueprint Fund, while $2.3m in mobile proceeds were allocated to the General Fund. Since the launch of the sports betting program in December 2021, $264m has been contributed to the Blueprint Fund.
In April, the six casinos in the state generated a combined $172.2m in revenue from slot machines and table games. That’s an improvement of 5.9 per cent year-over-year and the best single-month of fiscal year 2026 so far. In March, revenue stood at $168.1m.
